37 Weeks

Holy Crap I'm full term!
The nursery is ready. The car seat is installed. The hospital bag is packed. We're ready I guess, but I hoping to make it to 40+ weeks. I am due the first day of spring break; and the way my maternity leave works out, the day I deliver is the day my leave starts. So if I go early or over spring break, that's when my leave starts. If I deliver after spring break I'll be able to have a week off to sleep and whatnot before my leave starts.
This is how I felt all along- hoping I make it to 40 or even 41 weeks. Though I had said "I'll probably get to the end and say 'just get this baby out'". But actually, I've been feeling fine. No contractions or signs of labor (yet). I could easily go another 2-3 weeks.

Updates:
Cravings/Aversions: I'm having a hard time deciding what to eat in general, nothing is necessarily appealing.
Weight: +30 overall
Morning Sickness: luckily I have avoided this for the whole pregnancy, but heartburn is starting to creep up every now and then
Energy: oh so tired. I love my days off so I can just nap or lay in bed.

Nursery Decorations

I love decorating for babies, especially decorating letters for their names. Unfortunately, since we don;t know what baby stybs is, I couldn't buy the letters and get them ready before baby is born. I don't think I would have the time after baby is born either.

So I painted some Canvases and hung them on the wall. All I will need to do after baby is born is add white letters on the canvases. It helps that we chose a boy's name and a girl's name that are both 4 letters long.

Oh, and I also hung the mobile over where the crib will be (it had been in the window).

sorry about the light, it was a very sunny day
So, since I'm full term tomorrow (how did that happen?!) and baby could come at any point (though  I hope it chooses to stay in for the last 3 weeks) I thought it would be fun to see what you think.

Will we be meeting
 or
?

Is baby Stybs a boy or a girl?

It Worked

As we get ready for baby Stybs' arrival (in just over 3 weeks! eek!) I've been washing clothes and sheets,  scoping out my registry, and trying not to buy too much baby stuff.

The nursery has been pretty much set up since my shower and Grover has been checking it out and marking his territory ever since. I was pretty surprised that he hadn't been in the pack-n-play- no sign of cat hair or disturbed blanket- and thought he would leave it alone. Until a couple weeks ago. I was asking Adam if he had seen Grover in it and just as he said 'no' I noticed the blanket was askew. Then I looked in and saw the little orange hairs on the bassinet.

So obviously Grover has been smart enough to only go in the pack-n-play when we aren't home. But I didn't really know what to do.

Last weekend my friend Jen suggested putting foil in it. I thought Grover would like the crinkly sound and it would encourage him to play in there, but she said cat's don't like the feel of the foil. What the heck, why not? I lined the pack-n-play with foil that weekend.

I haven't noticed anything since then - no hairs, no paw prints- and thought maybe Grover was over it and wouldn't try to sleep in it again (I mean he has other beds, couches, and chairs to sleep in all over the house).
Then this morning as I'm lying in bed I hear the foil crinkle and then see (and hear) Grover sprint out of the nursery. The foil worked!

Grover flipped out when he jumped in the pack-n-play. Hopefully he won't be back. Thanks for the suggestion Jen!
